Target Journal Positioning

Use this file when the target journal is missing, uncertain, or relevant to literature screening and manuscript tone.

First ask

If the target journal is absent, ask:

If the user asks for recommendations, classify the manuscript by:

• material system and novelty
• device/application field
• mechanism depth
• performance and benchmarking strength
• figure completeness
• breadth of generalization
• target audience: materials generalist, device specialist, chemistry, energy/catalysis, biomaterials, nanotechnology, flexible electronics

Materials journal tiers by story type

Use current knowledge cautiously and verify live if the user needs submission rules, scope, fees, templates, or the latest editor policy.

High-impact broad materials:

• Nature Materials, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Communications, Science Advances, Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials

Strong specialist or high-visibility materials:

• ACS Nano, Nano Letters, Advanced Science, Materials Horizons, Matter, Small, Nano Energy, Energy & Environmental Science, Joule

Application-specific examples:

• energy storage: Energy Storage Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, Journal of Power Sources
• catalysis: ACS Catalysis, Applied Catalysis B, Journal of Catalysis

Recommendation output

For each recommended journal:

• fit reason
• required evidence level
• likely reviewer concern
• how to tune title/abstract/introduction
• whether more data are needed before submission

Do not overpromise acceptance probability. Give tiered options.
